Monday was a (kind of) relaxing day. We hung around Lewisham shopping a little in the Lewisham Centre for the clothes we didn't pack. I for one didn't expect it to be this chilly and rainy based on our previous trips at the same time of year. Anyways, the usual suspects were patronized: TKMaxx (yes same as TJ) and H & M. Warm clothing was procured. To refortify we wistfully ate at this deli. The pannini were so good, not to mention the chinotto and cappuccino.
Then came a walk through town where we discovered that one can leave the street and stroll unmolested by traffic in little pathways between and behind the houses on each block. It was all linked up with a park but we didn't have time to go through it.
And then we came to my favorite little feature, the Quaggy in Manor Park. This is still Lewisham but literally the other side of the DLR tracks and where we stayed last year. You can't see it all in the pic below but on the right side is a car repair shop and straight ahead is an entrance to the park.
Here's a modest view of the Quaggy:
A walk through the park.
This is a greenhouse made from water bottles! If you enlarge the pic you can read the sign.
A bridge over the river Quaggy:
Heading to the flat, I happened to look up at the sky because it seemed a tad ominous and saw this umbrella effect with the wires. Even British power lines are interesting.
And here's a frontal view of the place we are staying. Completely undistinguished but really comfortable, bright and quiet. For the first day we had two foxes hanging out in the neighbor's back yard.
After an hour or so of regeneration, we headed to this place. It was in a far west corner of the city limits and took almost 2 hours to get there on 2 different train lines. N had heard of it from another youtuber. It was quite the scene for Yobs that night. I added a link so you can check it out. And miraculously the Ace Cafe has a very refined menu. Yes it's mostly British food but really nicely done. I ordered bangers and mash. The menu said it was all organic and of the finest cuts with special seasonings. It was really good. A and I shared the plate and a few pints while we were waiting for N who was of course in his element and will show you the footage to prove it.

Yobs? All so urban/suburban and walkable...love, us
