Detour

That is a nice word for what we took today.  Due to some unexplained glitch, the directions my phone presented to us regarding a certain locale, were, let's just say, inaccurate.  Ordinarily, I wouldn't have minded being sidetracked.  Sometimes tangents are even better than what you'd planned.  I wish I could say such a thing about today's experience.

Well to borrow another Rickyism, I'll just leave it as "meh" and be done with it.

So.  Our plan was to stay close to home after yesterday's sojourn.  We thought a visit to a local museum featuring Escher would be a relaxing change of pace.  Several hours and detours after setting out (of which I will spare you the sweaty details) we found the palazzo.  The show was great.  I have always liked Escher but after this show I have actual admiration for him and his work.  If you have time you might enjoy reading a little bit about his life even via a wiki entry.  Did you know he lived for many years in Italy? Here is our family portrait from the show:

And then we went back to our apartment to enjoy some AC.  Later we made dinner and had these cookies A bought at a local bakery.  We started out with three but by the time we remembered to take a picture we were down a cookie. Note the hairdo on the one on the right.

The moral of the story is:  all's well, no matter how irritating the internets are, that ends with a good meal.
